It is noticeable from the beginning of your visit. The tide can be 10-15 feet. Rocks appear and disappear offshore. The docks float and their ramps get steeper. If you have a few hours you can watch this phenomena. Once you have done it don't tell anyone.
Compare the dock pictures at the top of this page at low tide with these taken at or near the high tide. Remarkable difference. But at low tide it allows you to find the mud flats around the island and see the creatures of the ocean.

Is the hat really from Breckenridge Colorado?
Grassy expanses and beautiful vistas. In the evening you will see the deer grazing like cattle.
