Northwest of Milano Italy...

The beautiful promenade walk along the lakeshore was abandoned. One could easily picture the sailing and paddle boats, the residents seeking the lake breezes on a hot summer afternoon, and the music from the lakefront amphitheatre floating in on the wind.

Narrow cobblestone streets, arches and architecture of old grace the pedestrian way.

Islands rise from the lake giving a unique visual impact resembling an inland sea.

Stop off for lunch and let them show you their zest for food. Even a seafood curry (Upper Right) is easy to find. Of course a soup (vegetable beef) and a pasta (with shrimp) must accompany the basket of bread.

Surrounded by hills and on the shores of a landlocked lake, the houses on the hillsides seem to hang suspended as if they could slide down at any time.

After a fantastic lunch and a bit of a walk, the central square has a convenient placement of benches. Enjoy them !
