A grey dawn starts a new weekend.

Trains run frequently and it is very easy to get around. The communication tower (the first built in Germany) is open and at the end of a rail line. The view over the area is fantastic.

Try a ride to Sonnenberg and then walk through the village. I think you will find that German suburban life is not all that different.

Suburban life appeals to the residents. Lots of gardens, sunny porchs and decks, satellite TV dishes, multiple cars and a restful environment.

All cities seem to have an old town section. Stuttgart is no exception but it has become just a group of bars. Down this narrow street past the Einstein bar and two blocks later you wonder what the attraction was. Might be ok as a watering hole on a hot day but there are better things to do in Stuttgart then spend the time here.

Stuttgart sits in a valley surrounded with the hills. Take a train up the hillside and out of town and the sun may follow.

The thermal pools less than ten minutes outside of town help on a cold winter day. Plan to spend the whole day there as they have a restaurant, many pools of different temperatures, saunas and water plunges. . In the summer the large lawns must attract the families.

In the center of town a street actor and student performs for tips. Her ballet swirls draw attention of old and young. Like young boys everywhere they laugh and point but still stay long enough to absorb a little culture.
