A short walk from the center of Munich and on the way to the Englisch Garten there is ample opportunity to wander in gardens and eat in open air patio restaurants. If beer is a requirement there are more than 3 beer gardens in the park to choose from. 

 

 In the drab winter or bright spring sunshine the Hofgarten is popular for a stroll between the downtown area of shopping and the attractions of the Garten.
